We have been featured on the January 2010 edition of the San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazine publication. The article talks about how we solved a living room space problem, by designing a custom built entertainment center both elegant and functional.
Below is the article from the magazine, enjoy!

It was automatic. When you entered the living room of this condo near Balboa Park, your eyes glommed on to the dining room’s long expanse of white wall. Another problem, no less immediate, was the lack of storage space for the media components house in a cabinet underneath a flat-screen TV.
Designer Jose Bejarano solved both problems in one fell swoop: a rift-oak and Karelian burl veneer entertainment center with chocolate-brown trim and solid maple drawers.
“The custom-designed new cabinet gave the room a focal point, a display area for art, and storage for audio/video equipment,” says Bejarano.

Behind a pinion pocket door are DVD and CD players, an amplifier, an iPod docking system and a high-definition cable box. The entertainment center houses a 60-inch flat-screen television. CDs and DVDs are located in the bottom drawers with removable dividers and slow-losing drawer guides. The exterior shelves are fixed and the interior shelves are adjustable.

The magazine publication says “Cabinet lighting is on a three-stage touch dimmer and each shelf is up-lighted. The compartment next to the TV has a spotlight and the areas on top of the TV section have bottom backlight creating a backlit wall. The entertainment center steps back in many areas. It was a very complicated design”.
